DALLAS VILLAGE MEMORIES BY: Joy Fanning Daniel

I love to think back over my life growing up in Dallas Village and graduating from Rison in 1934. That was many years ago but good memories are quick to come to mind.

I loved going to the "Y" and enjoying the gym and library. My father, William P. Fanning, was the "Y" Secretary and Hub Myhand the Physical Education Director. Both of them helped to make our leisure time fun time.

I had wonderful teachers and C.V. Fain was a great principal.

The times were hard. We still had lots of fun during our school days and put on good plays, programs, and minstrels.

I'm proud to be a Rison graduate.
